NGC 7023 - Iris Nebula and Surrounding Area

The area surrounding the Iris Nebula (which is the blue patch of nebulosity below the image's center) is covered by dust particles. The dust only becomes apparent when it relects starlight, as in the Iris Nebula itself. NGC 7023 is actually the designation of te cluster within the nebula, and the nebula is lit by the magnitude 7.1 star V 280 Cep.
